INSPIRE is our comprehensive wellness program designed to address all dimensions of well-being. Each activity on our calendar is carefully crafted with a specific purpose to benefit our residents, whether it’s focusing on physical, spiritual, nutritional, or mental well-being.
Inclusive
Residents are welcomed into a supportive family environment where everyone is accepted. We aim to educate our residents on a variety of celebrations and holidays, including special monthly themes that honor diverse populations. For example, we offer programs related to Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, and Pride Month. Our calendar is designed to be inclusive, with options for everyone. If a resident has a specific interest, we do our best to incorporate it into the schedule. While not every activity may appeal to everyone, there’s always something for each resident to enjoy.
Nutritional
Our outings include visits to various lunch locations, based on residents’ suggestions and opportunities for new culinary experiences. We also offer teaching kitchen and baking demonstrations led by onsite chefs or chefs from local restaurants. Additionally, our activity staff may lead baking demonstrations and share recipes.
Spiritual
We provide in-house spiritual services and ensure that all religions represented by our residents are included on the calendar. We invite a variety of religious and spiritual leaders to lead services, both specific to particular denominations and non-denominational offerings. For those preferring a more spiritual approach, we offer group classes like yoga, seated yoga, tai chi, and meditation.
Physical
Our communities offer physical activities most days of the week, including group classes such as Sit and Fit, Functional Fitness, Stretching, Seated Yoga, Line Dancing, Ageless Grace, Balance, and more. We adapt exercise classes to suit resident skill levels and work with physical therapists, both in-house and contracted, to optimize opportunities for our residents. Competitions like seated bowling, cornhole, ping pong, bocce, and ladder ball are also available, with adaptations as needed to ensure everyone can participate.
Intellectual
We offer a variety of intellectually stimulating activities, including trivia, Jeopardy, resident presentations, and discussions led by local professionals. Residents can also engage in armchair travel, learn about new cultures and places, or go on outings to museums and art galleries. Additionally, we provide access to Great Courses, an online educational program.
Recreational
Our recreational programs include performances by local artists, art and hobby opportunities to foster creativity and growth, social gatherings, and events based on national or daily holidays. We adapt these programs to meet the needs of our residents, using a recreational therapy approach that incorporates current, past, and new hobbies into the activity calendar. Resident-led groups, such as card games or other small group activities, are also encouraged.
Engaging
We create opportunities for residents to give back to the larger community, whether through fundraising for local nonprofits or volunteering with local organizations. These opportunities allow residents to contribute to the community without having to leave the community. Additionally, we host support groups for families in our Assisted Living communities.
